Assets are the files and documents you keep in PebblePad. They can be uploaded from external drives or created using PebblePad's templates or creative tools.
What is an asset?
An asset is a file or document and the collective term for:
- PebblePad files – portfolios, blogs, workbooks or templates
- Multimedia – images, videos and audio
- Documents – PDFs, Word, Google Doc
- Specialist files – video projects, development code, or other extensions
All your assets are kept in your Asset Store.
Create an asset
Assets can be created in two ways:
1. Creative tools and templates
Use any of the creative tools - activity log, blog, collection, page and portfolio - available in PebblePad.
Use any template or workbook available from the Resource Store.
2. Upload files from local device
An asset can be created by uploading a file from your local device.
To upload:
- From the burger menu, choose Upload a file.
- Select the file from your device.
- Add a title, description and tag and click Confirm upload.
- When uploaded, the file is identified with an icon for quick reference.
An external drive can be connected to PebblePad to access files.
Your institution may restrict certain file extensions from being uploaded.
Use an asset
An asset can be continuously opened to be worked on and updated.
To open:
- From the burger menu, go to the Asset Store
- Click the asset's title to open.
Read more about how to map an asset, or add as evidence to a template.
To close:
- Click Save (PebblePad does not autosave).
- Click the Pebble+ icon in the navigation bar.
An asset can only be open on one device at a time. Close before switching devices.
